Promote Djiboutian culture in Canada.
SODCAN, Solidarity Djibouti-Canada, was created in November 2019 following the initiative of certain members of the community in order to mobilize the Djiboutian diaspora of Canada to come to the aid of our compatriots who were facing torrential rains in Djibouti. It is from this surge of solidarity that SODCAN was born.
The Djiboutian diaspora in Canada being substantial, it was important for us to perpetuate this initiative and to create a structure to support our community presence in Canada and maintain links with our compatriots in Djibouti.
SODCAN is a non-profit organization.
Dignity: We want to help our members by promoting their autonomy.
Solidarity: We want to strengthen ties within our diaspora and with our compatriots at home, while building bridges with the Canadian society as a whole.
Transparency: We are committed to ensuring rigorous and transparent management as well as to acting in a constant search for effectiveness and efficiency.
Respect: We want our organization to play a unifying role, welcoming difference and working for each member of the community with respect for all.
